Dear Friends:

Blessings and grace from Washington, D.C. As the Director of the Christian Defense Coalition and founding Board Member of Stanton Healthcare, it is always a pleasure to share with you. I often say my work with Stanton is one of the most critical projects our ministry is currently involved with. Why is that?

The reason is simple. Stanton gives us the unique opportunity to actually see lives saved on a regular basis. Through the anointed work of our dedicated staff, we save innocent children from the horror of abortion and mothers from the emotional scars that abortion leaves behind.

Even though the hours can be long and the struggles intense…there is nothing like holding a precious child in your arms that wouldn’t have lived without your intervention. Words cannot describe the joy you feel as you realize this baby will grow and experience a life of purpose and meaning.

As I hold one of these “saved” children in my arms, I often like to think about what God has in store for them. What will their life look like? How will they impact the world around them? They may become teachers, community and business leaders and parents.

They may even become a member of the United States House of Representatives!

The story of Raul Labrador and his support of Stanton:

This past November, Stanton Healthcare was blessed to have Congressman Raul Labrador be the keynote speaker at our annual Businessman’s LIFE Breakfast. Congressman Labrador had just shocked the entire political world by upsetting the incumbent in the 2010 midterm congressional elections.

In fact, he had won the election just a week before he spoke to us.

However, Congressman Labrador did not come to the Stanton breakfast to speak about politics or talk about his historic victory.

Rather, he came to share his personal life story. A story so powerful it moved the entire crowd to tears. Even the Congressman himself!

You see Congressman Labrador was conceived out of wedlock to a single mother in Puerto Rico. She was young, scared, confused and didn’t know where to turn. She reminded us all of the clients we see every week at Stanton.

As she pondered what to do, she decided to go alone into the mountains of Puerto Rico to pray and ask God for direction and help.

As she prayed, she sensed the presence and strength of the Lord. Tears flowed down her cheeks as she determined she would have this child. No matter what the price. No matter what the cost.

When she prayed, she simply asked for God’s blessings and that God would somehow have a special purpose for this child.

Little did she know that her son, over 40 years later, would become a United States Congressman and one of the most influential people in the world.

Tears were now flowing down the cheeks of Congressman Labrador as he shared this moving and powerful story.

His mother sacrificed so he could live and become a successful lawyer and finally a member of the United States House of Representatives. His only wish was that his mother would have lived to see him take his seat in Washington, D.C.

But her prayers reached out through the years and God was faithful!

Congressman Labrador could share firsthand about the powerful work that Stanton Healthcare is doing. He knew from his own experience what can happen when a young mother makes a decision for LIFE. A life is saved and history is forever changed.

He encouraged everyone that morning to be generous in their giving to Stanton and to pray diligently for the staff and volunteers. He reiterated how we all must stand together in our support of LIFE and women. For Congressman Labrador, this ministry is not a political issue but an issue of the heart.

As we hold these precious children in our arms, we can only wonder; “Are we holding the next Congressman Labrador?”

The work of Stanton: More important than ever!

I have been involved with the pro-life movement for over 35 years and I have never seen more significant victories and progress then we have seen over the past 4 months.

It has been amazing to see what God is doing!

For the first time in history, the House of Representatives in Washington, D.C. voted to defund Planned Parenthood.

For someone who has been involved in the pro-life movement as long as I have, it seemed almost impossible that this could ever happen.

Planned Parenthood has received billions of dollars in taxpayer funding over the years and is the nation’s largest abortion provider. They perform over 1,000 abortions a day which generates 35% of their entire income!

Although there is still a long way to go in the defunding process, the handwriting is clearly on the wall. In fact, many states are voting to defund Planned Parenthood on a local level.

What does this mean for Stanton?

With less public funds going to Planned Parenthood, the workload at Stanton Healthcare will increase. More women will be using our services and thank God more lives will be saved.

However with this wonderful news, there is a greater challenge for our staff, volunteers and resources. It will require a greater commitment from us and it will require a greater commitment from our faithful supporters.

Now, more than ever, Stanton will need you to stand with us in a greater way through your prayers and financial support. We are blessed to have such wonderful friends joining hands with us in our work for LIFE.

Not only did we see this historic House vote on the defunding of Planned Parenthood, but we are seeing pro-life legislation passed in states all across the nation. Even our opposition says there has never been a better environment for the pro-life movement than today.

In fact, in my home state of Virginia, we just passed legislation that will close 17 of our 21 abortion clinics. Amazing!

We’re also seeing God expose the horror of the abortion industry with exposés like LiveAction did with Planned Parenthood. Their undercover videos revealed how Planned Parenthood actually helps aid sex trafficking. It was a lead news story across the nation.

In places like Philadelphia, we saw the tragic reality of abortion when a local abortion provider was charged with 8 counts of murder. He actually forced women to have abortions who did not want them and killed children who were born alive after late term abortions.

This story forced the nation to deal with the reality of what abortion really is.

Once again, all of this legislation and stories will increase our workload at Stanton.

Brandi’s National Speaking Ministry:

As God is doing all this amazing work, He’s also opening the national speaking ministry of Brandi. She would never say this, but Brandi is one of the most powerful and inspirational speakers we have in the pro-life community today. She especially challenges this emerging generation to stand for life with great passion and conviction.

Brandi was recently featured as a national speaker for many of the events surrounding the Roe v. Wade Memorial in Washington, D.C . She did a number of national television and print interviews. She is an incredible spokesperson for our movement and it was a blessing to have her in the nation’s capitol.

Over the past several weeks, Brandi’s speaking schedule has increased dramatically and she continues to be in demand across the country. Your gifts to this ministry allow Brandi to travel across the nation speaking to schools, conferences, major public events and to the media as a vibrant voice for life to this generation.

Stanton cannot move forward without you!

As you can see, there is so much going on…and there is so much more I could share. However, Stanton Healthcare wants you to know, we cannot move forward with you. Your faithful prayers and financial support allow us to move forward sharing Christ’s love with those in need and challenging our culture to embrace life.

We’re asking you to be especially generous over the next few weeks as Stanton has many exciting projects that we’ll be sharing with you.

Just think, your gifts to this ministry not only save a life but change history forever!

So prayerfully consider how God would want you involved with us in the coming days. The Christian Defense Coalition believes strongly in the work of Stanton and can assure you that your gifts are being used with integrity and purpose. Not one cent is wasted that’s for sure.
